Guide to ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture and EXPO 2022

Over 100 years old, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) founded in 1899 is the national professional association that represents more than 15,000 landscape architecture professionals and students.

The ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture is the largest landscape architecture trade show in the world. It is held annually by ASLA in various cities throughout the USA. The 2022 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture and EXPO is expected to draw more than 6,000 attendees and nearly 350 exhibitors, as similar to previous years.

This is the largest gathering of landscape architects and allied professionals in the world, all coming together to learn, celebrate, build relationships, and strengthen the bonds of our professional community.

Designing A Better Future – ASLA Conference 2022

The ASLA mission for this year’s conference on landscape architecture is to empower members to design a sustainable and equitable world through landscape architecture, in order to achieve the vision of healthy, beautiful, and resilient places for all. The values the conference stands for are Excellence, Integrity, and Diversity.

The focus on inclusion, sustainability, and the environment are important and pressing professional development goals as the next generation of landscape architects participate and take charge.

The conference will be held over four days from November 11 to 14, 2022, at San Francisco, Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, CA 94103.

Here are the key highlights to expect from the ASLA EXPO

Registration for the American Society of landscape architects Conference has been opened, register by September 21st to get the advance rate. There is also a member rate!

The 2022 Conference on Landscape Architecture offers over 120 courses, allowing attendees to fulfill their professional development hours (PDH) over four days.

Full event registration also includes all education sessions, the Professional and Student Awards Ceremony, and all activities and education sessions in the ASLA EXPO, but does not include field sessions, workshops, or deep dive sessions. In general, you will not need to advance registration for an education session.

For those interested in furthering their professional education, engaging in speaker sessions is a great way forward. There are over 450 speakers coming from 10 countries, and over 400 different organizations invited by the American Society of Landscape Architects.

This diversity of speakers bring their expertise from many related industries and topics, indulging climate change, research, design ideas, preservation practice, and more. Health and Safety Protocols

Be mindful of the COVID-19 pandemic to minimize the spread of COVID – 19 infections.

As recommended by the CDC, the American Society of Landscape Architects’ staff, ASLA’s contractors, and the staff at the Moscone Center will wear masks while inside the convention center and during food and beverage events at the Marriott Marquis.

ASLA strongly urges attendees and exhibitors to help minimize the spread of infection by wearing a mask inside the Moscone Center and events at the Marriott Marquis. The goal stated by ASLA is to have a successful and enjoyable in-person conference and minimize the spread of COVID – 19 and its variants.

The American Society of Landscape Architects’ EXPO is the major global event of the year. Over the four days, professionals in the landscape architecture industry, including landscape architects, landscape designers, architects, educators, researchers, allied professionals, developers, students, product suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers will explore industry trends, networks, and check out the different sites on the EXPO Floor.

For Exhibitors

The average attendee spends 4–6 hours on the EXPO floor to explore new products, services, technology applications, and design solutions. Attendees buy $5 million to over $50 million in products each year.

80% of these attendees purchased products viewed on the EXPO floor, garnering on average 98 leads per booth at the ASLA conference. While 95% of exhibitors from the past four years agreed that the ASLA conference met or exceeded their goals and expectations.
