The Client’s Challenge
The client wanted to find planters and plants that would thrive in the harsh sun and heat of California. Many common houseplants and planters will simply not survive or do well in these conditions. Trying to choose and place functional yet stylish planters strategically in their spaces was also important, so as to complement the architecture of the house and each other.
The Jay Scotts Solution
Planters were used around the perimeter of balcony spaces as decoration, adding a touch of greenery and color to an otherwise bland space. Weather-hardy greenery and planters were used to cope with the intense Californian weather conditions. The planters also provided privacy and fit into the overall design scheme, creating a cohesive look that pulls the property’s balconies and entryways together in an inviting and beautiful way.
